Born in St. Johns, Antigua on June 27, 1947, Lurvey dedicated his life to education, community service, and ministry. Over a distinguished career, he served in every aspect of education from teacher, Vice Principal, Principal, and Supervisory Officer, passionately advocating for education and empowering others to pursue excellence.

A founding member of New Life Christian Assembly in Toronto, Lurvey faithfully served his church as choir director and organist. He was also deeply committed to the Antiguan and Barbudan and Black communities in the GTA, generously sharing his time, talents, and leadership throughout his life.

Following retirement, Lurvey enjoyed dividing his time between Antigua and Canada, embracing the sunshine, peace, family, and friendships that brought him so much joy.

Lurvey leaves to cherish his memory his children, Mark and Minnelle; his loving grandson Kai; his siblings, Sylvester, Mildred, Vance, Errol, Lawrence, and Denfield; and was predeceased by his brother, Sydney. He will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
