Andre Henry passed away peacefully Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Toronto General Hospital, surrounded by family and friends, following complications from emergency surgery.

Andre cherished his friendships and the meaningful connections he built throughout his life. He was always ready with a warm smile, a helping hand, or a thoughtful word, and he had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel seen and valued.

He will be remembered for his kind heart, his dedication to his family and his adopted family in the disc jockey community where he was widely known as DJ SOLID. Andre’s legacy lives on in the people he loved, and the countless lives he touched with his warmth, generosity, and unmistakable spirit.

Andre was a gentle soul. All who knew him would attest to his kindness and genuine personality, his one-of-a-kind laugh, and his ever present smile. His warmth filled a room, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

While the creation and sharing of music was his passion, Andre was also a professional engineer. He received his degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of Toronto and built a respected career in the pharmaceutical industry with companies such as Apotex, Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK) and most recently, Sanofi where he was a manager in the Quality Operations Group.

Andre was predeceased by his beloved parents, McLee (2025) and Agnes (2019).
He will be deeply missed by his sister Kery and brother-in-law Michael; his life partner and sweetheart Alison Dearing Lahn; his cousin Stacy Joseph (Amélie Forget); his Aunt Rose and Aunt Anne; Genevieve, Wesley, Denzel and Giselle; and many extended family members and dear friends.

The family would like to thank Toronto General Hospital Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and the surgeons, ICU doctors, and nurses who worked tirelessly with care and compassion to attend to our beloved Andre.
