“St Lawrence”. A likeable movie set in recent times around the historic St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood in Olde Town Toronto. It’s about a young man Thomas who struggles to juggle his nowhere career, a volatile relationship and an ambition to save the local community film festival, plus a friendship with a cantankerous elderly chap Ivan who lives in the community. It was shot over twelve days and involved several local actors, crew members and locations including the St Lawrence Market. Mom & Pops Restaurant and Performing Arts Lodge …Canadian award winning Filmmaker Dale Hildebrand, who had previously screened his work at commffest, became the DOP and the title song was specially composed by Sandie. Alan Cohen arranged and recorded the theme song with singer Tracy Gallant. The hope is that a series can be created out of the movie.
